About Gwendra Granary

For an escape away from the crowds, spend your holiday in the hamlet of Gwendra. This cluster of restored stone-and-slate farm buildings clings to the clifftop above the family-friendly beaches of Carne and Pendower, and it's just a five-minute walk along a country lane to reach the golden sand and rock pools. Gwendra Granary is a converted barn with bright rooms.

There are coastal trails from the doorstep and you can loop onto the South West Coat Path to walk along the Roseland Peninsula. Head inland to the pretty village of Veryan, with its thatched round houses, pub and shop, or hike west along the coast to Portscatho and St Mawes. The area is rich in wildlife, from butterflies and birds to common seals. You might see the small herds of ponies who graze on the coastal strips to help maintain a healthy balance of plant species.

You have free entry to National Trust places during your stay, and Trelissick, with its gardens and views over the River Fal, is a 35-minute drive away.

There are five neighbouring cottages in Gwendra - Gwendra Granary (sleeps four), Gwendra Wartha (sleeps three), Hayloft (sleeps four), Mowhay (sleeps six) and Gwendra Dairy Cottage (sleeps two). They share open gardens, and each have their own outdoor seating area. It's a great place for friends and families to gather to holiday in neighbouring cottages.
