About Great Langdale Campsite

A relaxed, natural site set in the heart of the Great Langdale Valley.

With the towering Langdale Pikes looming above it, Great Langdale Campsite is a particularly dramatic spot to pitch up for a holiday in the outdoors. The site offers a wide selection of grassy pitches suitable for families and friend groups, as well as a collection of wooden camping pods, perfect for a winter break.

This well-equipped site boasts two toilet and shower blocks, washing-up areas, a laundry and drying room, a bouldering wall and a children's play area.

Ideally located for walkers keen to explore the Lake District, we also offer an orienteering course around the site. For those better suited to cycling, bring your bike and hit the trails.

After a busy afternoon exploring, head over to our very own Sticklebarn pub for a well-earned pint and hearty food - just a 10-minute walk away.

Customer notice regarding toilet block refurbishment March - May 2018
As part of our commitment to ensuring the best possible experience of camping at Langdale, we’re currently refurbishing one of the toilet blocks. Unfortunately, the recent severe weather has delayed this work which was due to be completed by Easter.  We’ve installed portaloos as an interim solution and the facilities block close to the shop/reception area is open as usual. If you’re staying with us in the next few weeks, please bear with us. We’ll do our best to minimise any disturbance but please accept our apologies for any inconvenience. Any questions, just call or pop into reception. Thanks for your patience.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
