Once home to the Coastguards, now a beachside apartment with accessible facilities.
Nightjar is a ground floor apartment at the Coastguard Cottages on Dunwich Heath. The apartment enjoys wonderful views across the heathland nature reserve and beyond. This open-plan, single level apartment offers a beachside retreat with the golden sand dunes of Minsmere just below.
Wake up early and go for a stroll, across the colourful heathland and through surrounding woodland. After a hike, treat yourself in the neighbouring tea room and gift shop or visit the pub and cafes in Dunwich village.
Discover more of the local area and visit the cathedral cities of Cambridge and Norwich. Both are just over an hour’s drive from the cottage and offer a wide range of shops, cafes and restaurants.
An open plan room with kitchen/dining/sitting/sleeping area (1 twin, which can be a 6’ double bed on request) and separate shower room with lavatory.

Parking: Designated parking for one car, screened from the adjacent gift shop entrance (open daily).
*WiFi: This is now available, but please note that intermittent connection problems can sometimes occur and should not be relied upon. We are pleased to provide free WiFi at this cottage which is supported by BT.
Garden: There is a small courtyard with picnic table outside this apartment which is for the sole use of Nightjar guests. Staff will on occasion need to pass through the garden to access external stores between 10am and 5pm.
Offers: Holiday cottage guests have free entry to all National Trust properties during the period of their stay. Full details in the confirmation email upon booking.
Guests will benefit from a late Sunday checkout of 4pm at this cottage
