Stay at Sutton Hoo

This 255-acre estate is home to one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of all time. Famously, in 1939, archaeologists revealed the shape of a ship beneath a mound - the ship burial of an Anglo-Saxon king and his treasured possessions.

Apartments in Tranmer House, Sutton Hoo

Tranmer House is the former home of Edith Pretty, who, with a lifelong interest in archeology, owned the estate and instigated the dig in 1939. There are three holiday apartments on this fascinating site in Tranmer House - Deben View (sleeps four), Wilford (sleeps four) and Kyson (sleeps six).
