About Wood pasture restorationHelp us restore our marvellous wood pasture on the Longshaw Estate.
What's wood pasture? A very special type of woodland that supports unique communities of birds, flowers, insects and fungi. On the Longshaw Estate, work with us to restore this increasingly rare habitat. You will help provide a home for vulnerable birds such as the Green Woodpecker and Redstart as well as other animals such as the fascinating Hairy Wood Ant. Tasks can include; collecting and burning waste after felling operations, tree planting and building tree shelters to stop animals eating the young trees.
