It's a bugs and beasties extravaganza at Hughenden this half-term.

Bugs & beasties

Saturday 27 May until Sunday 4 June 10.30am-4pm

Pick up a craft pack every day during half-term and make your own bug or beastie. Follow the bug hunt in the walled garden or pick up a magnifying glass and see what you can find.

£2 per child, normal admission applies.

Beasts & butterflies guided walk

Tuesday 30 May 10.30am-12pm

Kids can be nature detectives on this walk with our rangers. Catch as many beasties as you can with a net and identify them through a magnifying pot.

£4 per child. Normal admission applies. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring waterproofs in case of rain. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The great big tree climb

Thursday 1 June 10am-5pm

Tick another item off your '50 things' list with The Great Big Tree Climbing Co. 

Two highly skilled and friendly instructors can help all ages reach new heights in a fantastic tree at Hughenden.

They will teach you how to enter a tree's canopy using ropes, knots and karabiners, whilst being securely attached in a harness at all times. Once at the top of the tree you will gain an experience which can't be found on the ground.

Creepy crawly roadshow

Friday 2 June 10:30am,12pm, 2pm & 3:30pm

Join Paul Carpenter from 'Life in a rainforest' for a one hour show meeting creatures from the rainforest. Your chance to see and handle tropical creepy crawlies, including millipedes, beetles, spiders, tree frogs and snakes!
