Hughenden shop

Keep calm and carry on

Our Second World War range is linked to the secret mapping operation carried out at the Manor during the war, on behalf of the Air Ministry linked to Bomber Command just two miles away.

Local produce

Our local range of Winslow Honey from some of the apiaries on site is very popular, along with marmalades and chutneys from Gold Award winning Susie's Preserves.

Chiltern and Thames Valley range

We stock a large selection of local cards, books and maps on subjects including cycling, wildlife and walking.

Disraeli ale

Exclusively brewed by Chiltern Breweries and only on sale in our shop. It is one of the National Trust's 'top ten' bestsellers.
New to 2015 is the Battle of Britain Ale, again brewed by Chiltern Breweries. Like the old Spitfires and Hurricanes of legend, this ale certainly has a kick to it.

Disraeli and Hughenden

Our shop provides an interesting selection of merchandise on Queen Victoria's favourite Prime Minister and the house he loved to his dying day. Our separate second hand books and jig saw puzzles outlet is adjacent to the stableyard reception area.

Second-hand book shop

Don't forget to pop into our delightful second-hand book shop at the back of the stable yard. Here you will find a variety of books, from childrens to gardening and cooking to history.

Looking for your next best read? A large range of fiction books are also available at bargain prices. Occasionally we get books autographed by the author in, so make sure to check in the front covers; you may get a surprise.

All money raised from the sale of these books goes towards conservation work at Hughenden. Recent conservation work includes the salvaging of Disraeli's library which was hit by bad water damage in early 2015.

Need to make some room on your book shelves?

We are happy to take donations of books as well, providing they are in good condition. Books with missing covers and mould for example do not sell, please consider recycling books in this condition instead. If you have a large quantity of books to donate, please call the estate office on 01494 755573. They will be able to advise you on the book shop opening times and where to park to offload the books.
