New ways to volunteer here in 2016

Looking for your next adventure? We'd love to be part of it! And this is an exciting time to be involved at Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses, as we are finding creative new ways to share our stories in 2016.

What's happening at the Rock Houses this year

We hope to really bring the Rock Houses to life this year with simple hands-on activities that will encourage people to sit down and soak up the atmosphere, and get a sense of what daily life was like. Got a secret talent for making rag rugs that you're itching to show off? Or if you would love to learn a new skill, you could really enjoy coming up with ideas for this role.

Or do you enjoy stretching your legs and have a head for facts? Volunteers will also lead guided tours to show off the dramatic middle level of houses, open to visitors for the first time this year, and lead people around our charming gardens and orchard.

On top of all that, there's now the chance to welcome our visitors right at the start of their journey, with a new reception role that will introduce the whole site and include some memberships sales. You could help raise money for our cause and develop your sales skills, and be proud to be the first point of contact for people coming to the Rock Houses.

With all these exciting new plans, we also need people to just help us open up every day and man the Houses, light the fires and share an anecdote or two. This is especially vital since we will be opening for even more days this year to allow more people than ever to discover these amazing homes. We really value our Rock House volunteers, and your help would be much appreciated.

Other roles at Kinver Edge

Lastly, if you're most at home with a good brew and a chit-chat, we have the perfect place for you - serving delicious cakes to our visitors and helping them feel at home as they put their feet up in our quaint garden tea-rooms.
