Things to see and do at Limpsfield Common

Mists over Scearn Bank Limpsfield Common

Stroll through dappled woods or open grassland and heathland and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and explore our many footpaths. Why not bring your four-legged friend?

Nature watching

The common is bursting with wildlife. Sit quietly and you might see shy roe deer, foxes, badgers or rabbits. There're many birds and insects too and on a warm sunny day you might even spot reptiles such as the common lizard.

50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4

Dress in old clothes and go on an outdoor adventure – splash in puddles, get muddy, run, jump and explore. Fallen trees are great for balancing on and playing hide and seek. Pick up sticks and make a den or look out for mini beasts creeping nearby.

Start an energetic hike with us

Put on your hiking boots and join the Greensands Way, which runs through Limpsfield as it travels from Haslemere in west Surrey to Ham Street Kent, or the Vanguard Way, from Croydon to the south coast at Newhaven.

Sit and admire the views

Take a little stroll from the Scearn Bank car park to sit and enjoy the wonderful views looking south towards the Weald. A perfect way to end any day.

Let's go fly a kite

Follow in the footsteps of Major Baden-Powell (brother of Robert Baden-Powell) and fly your kites on the Common. Baden-Powell is said to have flown slightly bigger kites though; in fact man-lifting kites.

Visit our shelter

Step back in time to the Second World War and experience what life was like in an air raid shelter during the Battle of Britain. Drop us an email to book a group visit.
