Christmas in Berkshire

This year in the Berkshire area you can head to Basildon Park for the glamour of a Christmas inspired by Lady Iliffe's French-Mauritian roots, earn your wings at Cliveden's Angel Academy or revel in the cosy domesticity of Greys Court's Brunner family Christmas.

We have all the traditions of carols, decorated houses and seasonal treats to enjoy and every time you visit you're helping to look after these special places.

Basildon Park

It's a joyeux noel at Basildon Park this year in honour of Lady Iliffe's French Mauritian roots. The last mistress of the house was often in France at Christmas, but when she was at home, she entertained in style. The mansion is lavishly dressed to capture a moment in time on Christmas eve.

For a festive day out with a twist, take a rare look behind the scenes of a £5.4m roof project and tag a roof tile with your own message. Wander into the Tudor chapel and you’ll hear the sounds of a mass that time forgot. In the grounds you can go for a winter’s walk and then warm-up in our Brewhouse tea-room. In our shop you can pick out a gift for someone you know, or simply treat yourself.

Spring and Easter are great opportunities to join one of our workshops to perhaps learn a new craft or develop skills from a workshop last year. We continue to have our regular monthly chapel talks, poetry readings and services too.
