Since taking over the Tregullas Farm in Cornwall three years ago the Amiss family have already transformed it into a healthy, wildlife-rich environment. As well as producing meat, cereals, vegetables and eggs they’ve worked hard to make space for rare birds and plants by adapting the way they work their fields.
Awarded for their Attleborough rolled turkey breast as well as their turkey burgers and minced beef, Neil Conisbee and his family produce the meat in a stress-free, slow grown environment. Their turkey was recognised for its ‘golden colour and sweet, juicy taste.
The sweet-sharp apple juice is pressed using traditional West Country dessert apples grown in the Acland family’s orchards at Killerton. The estate, which has 20 farms, is one of the largest owned by the National Trust. Its apple juice as well as its cider, honey and charcoal are all produced sustainably to protect the land and create room for wildlife.
