Best places to see blossom in Shropshire and Staffordshire

Benthall Hall, Shropshire 

In mid-late March, the Yoshino cherry tree in front of the Hall bursts into blossom with clusters of pretty white flowers, some flushed with blush pink, they have a light almond scent and are favoured by bees. Planted in the late 1960s by Sir Paul Benthall, it has matured into a wonderful sight.

Attingham Park, Shrewsbury 

Blossom at Attingham brightens the gardens from late February, beginning with apricot and blackthorn. In the Walled Garden and Orchard, over 300 fruit trees, apples, pears, cherries, plums, quince and more, flower in succession, creating a beautiful, ever changing display throughout spring.

Dudmaston Hall, Shropshire 

The apple blossom in the orchard at Dudmaston comes into full flower in late spring. Sit beneath the canopy of frothy, pink petals and enjoy this beautiful springtime spectacle over a cuppa. Listen out for buzzing bees. The blossom is a great source of nectar for pollinating insects.

Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses 

The blossom is often brief but not to be missed at Kinver Edge and the Rock Houses. The apple trees in the orchard produce pale pink white flowers. Find a picnic bench beneath the trees to take in this seasonal display.
