Summer Holidays

Step back in time this summer to Tudor England at Little Moreton Hall, as we continue to explore Tudor health and wellbeing through smell.

Tudor Costumed Interpreter engaging with visitors

Little Moreton Hall is open 7 days throughout August, this is your chance to hopefully get outside and enjoy the sunny weather. Tudor outdoor games and pasttimes will allow us to make the most of the fresh air and take in the floral smells of the garden. The scents of the garden and the wonderful ingredients we are growing can also be experienced and enjoyed as we create various pot pourris and room fragrances for visitors to take home. Rather than mask bad smells, these fragrances were intended to 'cleanse' the air making it safe to breathe. The Tudors believed that herbal and floral scents would also protect the body from foul air or environmental elements that could enter the body and upset your healthy balance. Families can also join in the fun with the 'You Smell!' trail and lots of hands on smelly activities. Close your eyes, take a deep breath and picture Little Moreton Hall during the Tudor era.

Normal admission prices apply (free to NT members and under 5s). Activities will be running from 11:30am to 4:30pm.
