Walking your dog at Lyveden

Dogs are part of the family, and it's great to see our visitors enjoying a day out with their four-legged friends, whether it's a walk in the parkland with the family or lunch in the café whilst your pup companion relaxes.

Where can my dog go?

Well-behaved dogs on short leads are welcome anywhere at Lyveden, inlcuding the cafe.

Please be aware that there are often sheep and cows in the parkland, and that we focus on caring for the wildlife of all of these spaces, which is why it's so important to keep your dogs on short leads everywhere on site.

There are several footpaths and walks nearby, including the Lyveden Way which leads to Fermyn Woods Country Park and is ideal for a long ciruclar walk.

Where can't my dog go?

The upstairs of the Manor is unsuitable for dogs, other than assistance dogs.

What to do with the poo?

There is a bin by the tearoom which is suitable for the disposal of dog poo. Please ask at visitor reception if you can't find a bin, or take it home with you.

What do I need to be aware of?

To make sure everyone has an enjoyable day please follow our Canine Code:

  • Take the lead: help reduce the chance of your pup disturbing wildlife or livestock by keeping them on a short lead.
  • Scoop that poop: bag it and bin it to keep this place beautiful and safe.
  • Be on the ball: not everyone loves dogs, so keep them close by and don't let them approach people without checking with them first.
  • Please be aware that some plants can be toxic to dogs.
