Visiting Max Gate: What you need to know

We're looking forward to welcoming you back. Read this article to find out what you can expect from your visit, how to book, and how to change your booking. We've made some changes to our usual offer, to help keep everyone safe.

Guided visits

Max Gate is open for pre-booked, hourly guided visits. Please go to What's On to book your tickets.

There will be a 20-30 minute introductory walk and talk in the garden and drawing room to give you an introduction to Max Gate, followed by an opportunity for you to explore the atmospheric Victorian rooms at your leisure. Visits to Max Gate will therefore last approximately 1 hour.

Parking and when you arrive

There is no National Trust car park at Max Gate. Limited, free parking is available on the street. Please park considerately to avoid blocking foot and cycle paths and the turning area.

Please have your ticket to hand on arrival, to show to staff at the Visitor Reception. Members will also need to present their membership card for scanning.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your allotted time. This is to allow for a warm welcome to Max Gate including health and safety information for your visit. If you are more than 10 minutes late for your arrival slot then entry will be at the discretion of the property team.

Staying safe

If you’re showing any symptoms of coronavirus, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 14 days, please don’t visit.
