Celebrate the life and works of Virginia Woolf in the style of Clarissa Dalloway.

Vase of Flowers in front of bookshelf at Monk's House, East Sussex.

Wed 20 June 2018, gardens open at 12:30pm and the house opens at 1pm, last entry is 4:45pm.

'Mrs Dalloway said she would buy the flowers herself' is the famous opening line of Woolf's novel 'Mrs Dalloway'.

In celebration of Woolf's well-loved novel we plan to fill the house with flowers and celebrate in a manner fit for Mrs Dalloway. Enjoy our decorative display before heading out into the garden to soak up the tea party atmosphere with tea and cake available on the lawn.

This year Ink Spot Press are bringing their letterpress for you to have a go. Experience the art of letter pressing in the garden. For a small fee select your favourite Virginia Woolf quotes and have a go at pressing. Take your printing home to display.

The grounds are partly accessible with some steps and uneven paths throughout. There are steps into and out of the property.
