Children sat in the shell alcoves at Montacute House, Somerset

Montacute House offers a fantastic opportunity to develop an understanding of the lives of Tudors, both rich and poor. It can also be used as a focus for a local history study.

Montacute House is an excellent example of unspoilt late Elizabethan mansion and also contains a stunning collection of Tudor and early Jacobean portraits, from the National Portrait Gallery.

We are able to cater for all ages.  Most groups take advantage of sessions led by our Visitor Engagement Volunteers, but we can also support group leaders who want to self lead their group.

Bookings are now being taken for our 2018 programme which begins on the 5 March 2018.
