Why not avoid the hustle and bustle of the high street this Christmas by escaping to our National Trust shop at Mottistone Gardens? Nestled in the heart of the countryside and located in an ancient barn, it’s the perfect place to find a special gift this festive season. And with every purchase you make, you’re giving a present to nature too this year.
When to visit
The cold weather may mean that our gardens are closed, but our warm and cosy shop is open 11am-3pm every Thursday to Saturday from 7 November to 21 December. We're also celebrating Brighstone Tree Festival with our first ever Christmas Market on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 Decemeber (10am-4pm).
This Christmas on Sat 7 and Sun 8 Dec (10am-4pm) the gardens at Mottistone will be hosting a special festive market to tie in with Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival.
Inside you’ll find shelves covered with sweets, chocolates, biscuits, jams and curds galore, all made exclusively for us in the UK. There's also Christmas cards and decorations, and a rich Christmas pudding, along with healthy nuts and warming mulled wine: everything for a traditional Christmas.

For little ones there are plenty of gifts to stuff out stockings with. Our traditional toys and games might raise a big grin on Christmas morning, with each one inspired by either nature or nostalgia and perfect for all the family to enjoy.
Inspired by our places
Inspired by slow craft and the maker's hand, our 'Grain to Glory' design is created exclusively for the National Trust by our in-house designers. The collection explores the delicately crafted woodwork we look after, that has been so carefully maintained and restored. Vibrant tones such as rich burgundy anchor our seasonal colour and celebrate the richness of our inspiration.

The midnight sky full of golden stars, and lavishly coloured trailing florals inspired by the rich gilded ceilings at Knightshayes, Devon, feature on ceramic homewares and Christmas gift wrap, whilst snuggly scarfs are adorned with bold colours and designs inspired by a closer look at Grinling Gibbons' limewood carvings at Petworth House, West Sussex.
