How to make the most of being Castaway on Northey Island... Activities and Stalls are being confirmed all the time so here's a snapshot of what you can expect at Castaway.

Timings for Castaway

Friday 31 August
Entry to the campsite is from 12pm till 2pm and 7pm - 9pm.
New arrivals to the campsite must arrive promptly or will be unable to gain access due to the tides. If this happens head to Promenade Park in Maldon for toilets and refreshments to while away the time.
Food and drink will be available in the bar area from tbc pm.
Saturday 1 September
Campers arriving on Saturday should arrive before 10am.
After 10am no cars will be allowed across the Causeway as we want you to experience the island as a true Castaway!
The causeway will be flooded, and therefore closed from 2pm until 7.30pm.
There will be a number of stalls and activities going on throughout the day and evening. Between 10am and 4pm there will be various walks, talks, displays and a new alternative to our famous 'Castaway raft race' in the afternoon.
The theme is survival this year, so kids - feel free to come dressed up and ready to discover how to survive on an island!
Then kick back, relax and enjoy a summer's evening with your Castaway family enjoying music in the bar area to keep you entertained.
Sunday 2 September
Buy some breakfast from the bar area before packing and heading home. The site will be closed and all campers are asked to leave by 12pm before the tide comes in.
To ensure that everyone leaves the island having their nature levels topped up we have 'The Viewing Party' to experience coming to Castaway this year. Based on an ancient Japanese tradition that delivers a surprising treat for those attending. You will be able to choose either an early morning or early evening session during the weekend.
Activities and locations will be listed on our Castaway activities board on the lawn, so make sure you take a look and plan your day...
