Enjoy a relaxing Easter day out at Nuffield Place
Easter is all grown up at Nuffield Place from the 19 - 22 April, as we step back in time for an afternoon of tea and cake with Lord and Lady Nuffield. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the Cadbury Easter Egg Hunts, Easter at Nuffield Place will be just for you.
Afternoon Tea with Lord and Lady Nuffield
Easter was a time of tradition for the Nuffields and to celebrate, Lady Nuffield hosted afternoon tea for close friends. To reflect this quiet and intimate Easter tradition, and to welcome the arrival of spring, the house will be brightened with the scents and colours of fresh floral displays, from potted bulbs grown in the garden to beautiful flower arrangements.
Why not celebrate Easter as Lady Nuffield did, and have afternoon tea in the garden? Our cafe will be serving hot drinks, light lunches and cake from 10-5pm all weekend.
Volunteer Talks at Nuffield Place
Our volunteers are our resident fountains of knowledge on the history of the Nuffields and their fascinating lives, everything from cars to cocktails. We think this knowledge is worth sharing, and a handful of our volunteers can’t wait to share these stories with you.
Join one of our volunteer-led introductory talks, offering you a chance to delve a little deeper in to the story of Nuffield Place and its residents. These talks will usually take place at 11.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm and where numbers are limited, places will be offered on a first come, first serve basis from Visitor Reception.
Wander around the garden to find spring bulbs growing and colourful flowers blooming, with beautiful foxglove appearing in April. Follow a hard standing path to the woodland near the house to see a stunning show of bluebells, which should be in flower between April and May.
