Nuffield Place showcases early 20th-century style and thrift; despite their vast fortune, Lord and Lady Nuffield enjoyed the simpler things in life. Their home and personal possessions are just as they left them, giving you a true insight into the world they lived in.

An intimate home

From the comfortable sitting room with a small black and white TV, to Lord Nuffield's humble bedroom with a secret built-in workshop, Nuffield Place radiates the tastes and interests of its illustrious owner.

House experience at Nuffield Place

Nuffield Place has a fantastic team of friendly and knowledgeable guides, ready to share the history and stories of the Nuffields. If you fancy delving a little more deeply into the couple's lives, we'd recommend booking onto one of our morning guided experiences, or if you'd prefer to explore at your own pace, the house is open from 1.30pm for self-guided visits.

Car club visits at Nuffield Place

Nuffield Place is a popular place for car clubs to visit, and you might have seen some special motors parked outside the house. With the chance to park in front of Lord Nuffield's house, visiting with your car group is a memorable day out. Please email nuffieldplace@nationaltrust.org.uk for more information.

Book your visit

For morning guided house experiences, we recommend that all visitors, including members, book in advance to guarantee a place. Bookings can be made up to 8am on the day.
