Look out for our feline friend

Cats have always been a feature of Peckover and the family had a number of them as pets. Today you can meet their successor, Penrose. Since coming into the garden two years ago, Penrose has made himself at home and enjoying life in the garden.

Peckover House and Garden

The history of Peckover 

The Peckover's were a family of wealthy Quaker bankers. Their association with Wisbech began in 1777 when Jonathan Peckover established his grocery business here. Then on the death of Alexandrina Peckover in 1948, the house and garden came into the care of the National Trust.
