Visiting Rhosili : what you need to know
Parking and arrival
We can experience very busy days at Rhosili, if you’re planning to visit, please plan-ahead and have an alternative visit option in mind if you find that the car park is full.
Access to our car park is through the narrow lanes of the village, please respect the local community, don’t park on the side of the road, it restricts access for the emergency services.
Our car park operates coin only pay & display machines. Cars - £6 all day, £3 for up to 2 hours.
You can also pay online using PayByPhone We recommend that you download the app beforehand as mobile signal at Rhosili can be poor. As ever, our members park free. If you’d like to support us you can join here
Your contributions go towards maintaining this beautiful part of the countryside, with the money generated reinvested back into Rhosili and other places within our care on Gower.
Please do not ask local shops and cafes for change.
To help keep everyone safe, please follow social distancing and government guidance when you visit. Look out for signs while you’re here which will explain any changes to how you can access different parts of the site.
If you’re showing any of the symptoms of coronavirus, or if you’ve been in contact with anyone that has the virus in the last 14 days, please don’t visit.
Visiting the countryside
During your visit, please follow the Countryside Code – be respectful of others, adhere to social distancing, protect the natural environment and enjoy the outdoors safely.
Help nature and wildlife by taking your litter home and encouraging others to do the same.
The toilets onsite are currently open and operated by Swansea City Council, please visit their website for the latest information on the management and opening times of the toilets.
Eating & Shopping
The former coastguard cottages which house Rhosili Shop were built in the late 1920s and offer spectacular views of Rhosili Bay, whatever the weather. Stocked with an array of National Trust products, there’s everything you might need during your visit, for exploring further or just as a reminder of your day. There are many eateries in the village of Rhosili, please visit them and support the local community.
The beach at Rhosili is dog friendly all year. Please follow the Countryside Code and dispose of any waste responsibly.
Overnight camping or parking
Overnight parking and camping are not permitted in the car park or on the headland and are a breach of our byelaws. For any visitors wishing to stay in the area, there are several campsites nearby, please support local accommodation providers.
