Exploring the Vile

Volunteers repairing a wall at Rhosili, Gower

At Rhosili, we have fantastic footpaths that allow you to take in the stunning views over Rhossili Bay, over the headland and out to the Worm. What was missing was the opportunity to follow circular routes around the area, especially on the Vile.

We’ve developed a network of circular walking routes through the Vile as part of our restoration project. These new paths take you through the flower rich meadows and past colourful crops.

They vary in length from half an hour stroll to a pleasant tour around the headland, all within a short distance from the newly refurbished car park at Rhosili.

The footpaths can be accessed from the overflow car park or from the main path that heads down to the Worm, once you’ve made your way through the gate follow the waymarkers.

We’ve opened the first series of paths in Spring 2018 and plan to open more paths this winter.
