Meet Mandy, administrative volunteer

Mandy, administrative volunteer

We caught up with Mandy, one of our administrative volunteers, who works closely with the visitor experience team...

Why did you start volunteering at Tredegar House?

As I already work part time in education, I was looking for an opportunity to take on an additional role in another organisation. I had been a member of the National Trust for some time, and decided to apply for an administrative role at Tredegar House.

What does a typical volunteer day look like for you?

I work at Tredegar House for three days each month, and work behind the scenes with the visitor experience team. It is a very relaxed environment, and the team are really welcoming and appreciative of the time you give to help out. I enjoy the historical aspect and the variety the work gives. I've been involved with projects from historical interpretation, to visitor surveys, to preparing newsletters.

What impact has volunteering at Tredegar House had on you?

Volunteering at Tredegar House has given me the new experience I was looking for, but with the flexibility that volunteering allows. It has been a very positive experience.
