Uncover the treasures at Tredegar House this Autumn
Step inside the Master's Bedchamber for a long-awaited exhibition of family treasures and collection highlights.
This Autumn we’re inviting you to step behind closed doors and delve a little deeper into some of the most unique and fascinating pieces of our quirky collection at Tredegar House.
Treasures of Tredegar is a seven week celebration of the Morgan family’s most treasured possessions and valuables. Volunteers and conservators will be on hand to talk you through the history of each item on display and visitors will have the chance to grapple with the techniques used to care for listed houses and collections.
We have also taken the opportunity to open up the Master’s Bedchamber, the Cedar Closet and the Cow Bathroom (three rooms not usually on the visitor route) for this one off exhibition.
Keep an eye out for St Fagans’ conservators in the Best Chamber on 5 October as they unravel the history of the Morgan family silks, donated to the museum by Courtenay Morgan in 1923.
Treasures of Tredegar will run every day between 12pm and 3pm from 1 September until 21 October 2016.
