World book day at Trerice

An adult and children choosing books

We love settling down by the fire with a good book here at Trerice and can’t wait to celebrate stories over the World Book Day weekend on 7 and 8 March 2020.

Exchange your World Book Day tokens

Visit the shop and exchange your World Book Day token for one of the selected titles, you don’t need to have a token to purchase one of these books – they’re all available for £1. You can also explore the second-hand bookshop for even more books. There’s a wide selection for children and adults available and the donations help us to look after Trerice.

Hide and seek with Puffling

Puffling and her friends are playing hide and seek in the shop and second-hand bookshop at Trerice, can you help find them? Take part in a trail adapted from the World Book Day picturebook 'Where Are You, Puffling?' by Erika McGann and Sean Daly with illustrations by Gery Daly. Test your knowledge with a true or false fact sheet – all based on the animals in ‘Evie and the Jungle’.

Over the weekend there will be two storytelling sessions a day in the second-hand bookshop at 11.45am and 2.45pm. Gather round with one of the Trerice volunteers to hear stories suitable for all ages.

Take a break

After all that action it’ll definitely be time to settle down with a good book, a warm drink and a piece of cake in the barn restaurant. Alternatively the summer house is a great spot for a picnic with shelter from any spring showers.
