This Christmas, Tyntesfield, invites you to step into a festive fairytale with Once Upon a Christmas Time. From the Welcome Building to the Kitchen Garden, the estate will be transformed with enchanting decorations and a magical fairytale trail, full of surprises waiting to be discovered.

Wander through the Rose Garden and step into Cinderella's world. In the house, be captivated by the tale of the wild swans, join the Hatter's tea party in the Library, and uncover the fairytale of Weston in the Dining Room. Marvel at a towering beanstalk in the hall before venturing into Narnia in the Drawing Room. And that's just the beginning - throughout the house, many more fairytales and magical moments await discovery.

With stories brought to life both inside the house and across the grounds, there's a whole day of magic and merriment to enjoy.

Christmas at Tyntesfield will also feature a charming street scene in the chapel courtyard, festive concerts in the chapel, Christmas trails, and hands-on craft workshops. More seasonal events will be announced soon, so keep an eye on this page for updates.

Once Upon a Christmas Time at Tyntesfield is being created in partnership with SuperCulture, working with local community groups and colleges across the south west.

Please note: entry to the estate and house does not require advance booking.

Christmas decorations

How will the estate look this year?

There'll be decorations under the theme of Once Upon A Christmas Time from 1 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 across Tyntesfield Estate.

Decorations will feature a combination of inventive community sourced art installations which are being developed in partnership with SuperCulture, in collaboration with local community groups.

Other creative displays are being masterminded by the collections team, the gardens & outdoors team and volunteers, to deliver a fully immersive, inside and out experience, for all visitors.

The house and grounds will be full of decorations, each inspired by classic fairytales including Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Hansel and Gretal and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

There will of course be lots in store for our younger visitors, who can take part in a festive trail through the house, explore the estate with our Christmas reindeer trail, and more.

Christmas shopping at Tyntesfield

The shop will be open and is filled to the rafters with beautiful gifts, stocking fillers and treats for the table on Christmas Day. We'll be managing numbers inside to keep everyone safe, so if your trip is shopping focused, we'd suggest planning your visit for the afternoon when things are a little quieter.
