Summer evening entertainment at Uppark
One of the highlights of the English summer season is the chance to enjoy outdoor entertainment in the glorious setting of a historic National Trust landscape. This article was about our summer activities in 2017. We’ll be updating this with 2018 event information later on this year
The live entertainment and beautiful setting is provided, so all you need to do is pack a picnic and a blanket and you’ve got all the ingredients for a perfect summer evening.
Pride and Prejudice
Saturday 24 June 7pm – 9.30pm
In a social whirlwind of balls, dinners and very eligible officers, Lizzie Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy stand alone as the only sane people - and they hate each other! Or do they? Can she see beyond his pride, and can she overcome her prejudice, in order to achieve their mutual happiness?
If your idea of Jane Austen is costume-drama, empire-lines and tea-parties, then this sparkling adaptation, by Equity-compliant Illyria, based entirely on the original novel, is something to make you change your mind.

The Emperor’s New Clothes

Illyria was the first company to tour children’s theatre on this scale, now in their 26th season they return with one of the most famous cautionary tales ever told.
