After Bath Assembly Rooms was severely damaged in WWII, Oliver Messel was commissioned to design new interiors for the Rooms.
This talk explores Oliver Messel, the artist, architect, theatre and interior design and how he brought his distinctive style to Bath in the 1960s.
Dr Emily Roy, Project Curator at Bath Assembly Rooms will explore Messel's time in Bath in the context of the life and work of this important figure in LGBTQIA+ history.
The talk will take place at the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution (BRLSI).
