Adult Needle Felting Workshop - Hare - Intermediate Level
This workshop is aimed at confident beginners and people looking to pick up some new techniques, led by tutor Natalie Harris (Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies.
- Booking essential
Inspired by the beautiful Hare illustration by Philip Speakman Webb (a study for "The Forest tapestry later made by Morris & co, this illustration is part of Wightwick Manor's collection) this is an adult needle felting workshop aimed at confident beginners and those looking to pick up new techniques. There will be a partial armature on the front legs. Attendees should be able to make simple firm shapes such as as eggs and balls.
In the morning (10.30-12:30) the basics of what type of wool and needles are best for sculpting will be explained and then you will use some basic techniques to make the base sculpt of your hare.
We will break for lunch and an opportunity to get some fresh air in the grounds at 12.30. We will then return at 13:30 and continue making until around 16:00 to finish our hares and to add the finer details and concentrate on blending the coat colours.
Admission to Wightwick Manor is also included and you will be able to view the house and grounds during the lunch break and you are welcome to stay up until closing time once the workshop has ended. Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel and you will have to negotiate a flight of stairs.
Booking is essential, £35 per person. Please book with Natalie at www.facebook.com/rolypolyponies or email info@rolypolyponies.co.uk
