Adult Beginners Needle Felting Workshop - Roses
This is a workshop aimed at adult beginners or first time felters with tutor Natalie Harris(Brooks). Natalie is a fine artist using needle felting and the creator of Roly Poly Ponies.
- Booking essential
We will be making roses, from wool around a wire support in the colour of your choice. (There will be a selection of colours available on the day). This workshop is aimed at beginners and those looking to pick up new techniques - first timers are welcome, but due to the armature work, this is one of the more fiddly projects. If you would prefer a more solid first project, then take a look at the Roly Poly Ponies events page on Facebook for other beginners workshops.
In the morning (10.30-12:00) the basics of what type of wool and needles are best for sculpting will be explained and then you will use some basic techniques to cover a simple armature and begin to make the petals.
We will break for lunch and an opportunity to get some fresh air in the grounds at 12.00, then we will then return at 13:00 to finish our roses, completing petals and constructing the flower itself.
All materials are provided. Please note that lunch is not included, the on-site tearoom will be open or you may bring your own.
Admission to Wightwick Manor is also included and you are welcome to view the house and grounds once the workshop has ended, please check the opening times. Parking is free.
Note that as Wightwick Manor is a historical venue, some floors may be unlevel and you will have to negotiate some stairs.
£25 per person, booking essential. You can book with Natalie on her Facebook page at www.facebook.com/rolypolyponies or by emailing her at info@rolypolyponies.co.uk
