Stories in Bloom: NOMA to Castlefield Viaduct
Join us for a writing workshop that uses a guided walk through Manchester’s best blossom sites as inspiration with Oak & Pen.
- Booking essential
- Free event
Join us on a guided walk through Manchester’s bloomtown, where we’ll be using writing prompts inspired by the blossoms and their history to create a piece of writing that’s personal to you.
This step free wander across Manchester centre will take us through some well known spots, and some nooks you may not even know are there. At each spot, we will talk you through the blossoms that are there, and how they reflect the city's identity. From old church burial sites to food gardens and the site of the Peterloo massacre, overlooked by gorgeous foxglove trees, there's inspiration from all corners on this historical route.
At the end of the route we will collate all our ideas at Castlefield Viaduct to produce a story that you can be proud of.
We welcome writers of all experience levels, whether this is your first time picking up the pen or you’re an old pro looking to reinvigorate your practice.
Please let us know of any access requirements and bear in mind that lunch is not included, but please feel free to bring food and drink to enjoy along the way.
Our workshops do have a back up plan should we encounter bad weather.
This event is 18+.
