Monet's Garden: Acrylic Painting Workshop with Ula Fung

Take inspiration from the Japanese Garden at Tatton Park and learn all about the painting techniques of Monet.

The Japanese Bridge, waterlilies, Golden Willows and Cherry Blossom are all featured in Monet’s work, you can also find all of these elements in Tatton Park’s Japanese Garden. The perfect setting to explore the beauty of the colour from nature and learn some expressional brushstrokes using acrylic paint.

In this workshop, our experienced artist Ula from Floating Art will teach you about some of her greatest passions. Ula is a local artist with over 15 years of teaching behind her. During this workshop, she will provide you with a gentle introduction to Monet, teaching you about his painting techniques, she will tell you about his art language: compositions, layerings, colour theories, brush works and a little about where he drew his inspiration.

Our workshops are suitable for painters of all levels, and are a blend of both fun and learning.

We will bring along a selection of Monet’s paintings and some other impressionist artists’ works to use as references. You won’t simply be copying what’s in front of you, you will learn what’s behind the work and how it was created.

Materials (all provided): Acrylic Brushes, palettes, canvas and everything else required for the workshop.

Barn Rooms in the Stableyard which will be signposted on the day.

What to bring and wear

Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on & a carrying bag for take your artworks home.

Accessibility

The Barn Rooms are a short walk from the main car park. There are spaces close to the Barn Rooms for use by blue badge holders. There are some uneven surfaces and historic cobbles in and around the stableyard. Please note that this workshop takes place on the first floor of a historic barn, with no lift access.
