Explore the garden at Antony with our all-terrain Tramper, which is available to hire in partnership with Countryside Mobility. Advance booking is essential.
The Tramper is an electric all-terrain mobility scooter designed specifically to cover rough ground and grass safely. It's able to go up and down slopes, over bumps, through mud, soft ground and shallow puddles.
The Tramper can explore most areas of the garden at Antony. There are some specific areas close to the house and formal gardens where you may need to divert to bypass steps or steep cross gradients or to find a lower lip on path edges to access the lawns. These will be explained as part of the briefing on the day of booking.
Please note: the Tramper can be used to reach buildings such as the toilets, café and house but cannot be taken inside due to lack of space. For more information please read the full access statement available on the homepage.
Booking to use the tramper is essential. Please call us on 01752 812191 and press option 0 to speak to the Property Office or email antony@nationaltrust.org.uk to discuss booking during our regular opening times. Bookings can be made more than a week in advance, but do cancel if you change your mind. Please aim to book 48 hours in advance otherwise we cannot guarantee we will be able to process your booking. However, in the case of a last minute request please call us in case we can help.
Normal National Trust admission charges apply; entry is free for National Trust members. If you need to bring a carer or essential companion to accompany you as a disabled visitor, they are free of charge.
All visitors hiring a Tramper must become a member of Countryside Mobility, if they are not already, to ensure they are covered by insurance and have demonstrated they can safety use a Tramper. Choose either a single use (£3), a two week taster (£5) or annual membership (£15).
On the day of your booking, we'll give you a briefing of the route, a map and a short introduction to the Tramper if you are a first time user.
We might occasionally have to cancel a Tramper booking due to severe weather conditions or factors out of our control. If this happens we will try to contact you as soon as possible.
Anyone who struggles with walking can use the tramper - as long as they are able to use the handlebar steering and hand controls.
You don't have to be registered disabled or have a Blue Badge to use the Tramper. It can simply be that your difficulities are caused by a temporary condition.
If you're a first-time user, please read the important medical and health information, terms and conditions and introductory video.
