Spirit of Autumn

Discover how animals get ready for winter on a playful autumn trail through Knightshayes.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

What does nature do to get ready for winter?

Step into the garden on a fun, family trail and discover how plants and animals respond to the changing season. As temperatures fall and daylight shortens, many species become especially active - gathering food, establishing new territories, and changing their behaviour to survive the colder months ahead.

Try hands-on activities along the way to uncover some of the fascinating and sometimes surprising ways wildlife prepares for winter. You will learn how some creatures store food, migrate to other countries, or enter states like hibernation to help survive the winter.

Knightshayes is the perfect place to celebrate autumn in all its colourful, cosy glory - come and enjoy the season together.
