Lydford Gorge Viking trail

In 997 the Vikings advanced on Lydford in search of plunder. Follow the trail around the around the orchard to learn how they fared on this family-friendly trail.

This is a free paperless trail starting at the Devil's Cauldron entrance. You could also take a hike down to the Devil's Cauldron before it shuts for winter. Running daily, between 10am and 3pm, from Wednesday 8 October to Sunday 2 November.

Suitability

Please ensure children are supervised.

Meeting point

The trail will be in the orchard meadow at the Devil's Cauldron entrance.

What to bring and wear

The event is outside so please wear clothing suitable for the weather, walking boots are recommended for walking in the gorge.

Accessibility

Please note the orchard has uneven ground and some steep slopes. Sorry it's not suitable for buggies or pushchairs.

Other

Dogs are welcome, but please keep on a short lead at all times and out of the river.
