Introduction to Wood Engraving

Design a unique print, a perfect gift for yourself or someone special. Robin Mackenzie will lead this workshop, perfect for beginners or those looking to build on their existing skills.

This one-day workshop is perfect for beginners looking to learn a new technique, or for those who wish to build on their existing skills.

You will be taught the principles of designing for wood engraving, methods of engraving into a block of end grain wood, and how to print from your finished block.

Hot drinks and biscuits will be provided throughout the day. Please bring along your own lunch to enjoy, or you can pop to our café for a range of hot and cold lunch options.

Robin Mackenzie is an elected member of The Society of Wood Engravers and has exhibited his work around the UK and internationally. This event will take place in our Tipi, approximately a five minute walk from Visitor Reception.

What to bring and wear

While the workshop area is heated, we recommend wearing warm layers to this event.
