We're throwing open the doors at Kingston Lacy for three days in September – and providing free transport as well.

Free entry to Kingston Lacy

Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture. National Trust members come in to Kingston Lacy (and 500 other special places) free every day, but for three days in September we're opening the doors to everyone.

It's your chance to see a wonderful garden, alight with autumnal colours at this time of year as the acers and bamboos in the Japanese Garden turn red, orange and yellow. The house is a miniature 'national gallery' with works by Rubens, Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel. This autumn, there's a special exhibition of one of the National Trust's greatest treasures, a self-portrait by Rembrandt that is on tour from Buckland Abbey in Devon.

Free transport

We're also partnering with Dorset Community Transport to provide free transport as well. The little green bus will be running services from Wimborne (18-20 Sept) and Blandford Forum (19-20 Sept); check the time tables with the links below.
