Relive History with the Sealed Knot
The Sealed Knot is the oldest re-enactment society in the UK, come and see their living history camp and demonstrations at Hinton Ampner
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
Step back in time and experience history brought vividly to life with the renowned Sealed Knot — the UK’s oldest re-enactment society.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of Hinton Ampner, explore an immersive living history camp where costumed re-enactors recreate the sights, sounds, and spirit of the past. Watch thrilling drill demonstrations in the parkland, as disciplined lines of pikemen and musketeers showcase the training and tactics of a bygone age.
Wander through atmospheric camp tents filled with period weaponry and discover how soldiers once lived, worked, and prepared for battle. Alongside the displays, you’ll also see traditional skills in action, offering a fascinating glimpse into everyday life during the English Civil War.
After the demonstrations, younger visitors (and the young at heart!) can join in the excitement by stepping into history themselves — try your hand at becoming a pikeman or musketeer in hands-on training sessions that bring the past to life in an unforgettable way.
