Join us as we celebrate two remarkable milestones: Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra’s 95th season and the 250th birthday of Jane Austen. Featuring a special performance of Carl Davis’ Theme from Pride and Prejudice, we’ll be honouring the beloved novelist’s deep connection to the area. Set against the stunning backdrop of The Vyne, a historic Tudor house surrounded by lush gardens and woodlands, this event offers the perfect blend of music, history and natural beauty. In celebration of this milestone, The Vyne is hosting the 95th anniversary concert for free, with proceeds going towards Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra.
The programme includes:
Mendelssohn | Midsummer Night’s Dream Overture
Dvořák | Slavonic Dance in G Minor
Holst | Jupiter from The Planets
Bizet | Pieces from L’Arlesienne Suite no. 2
Carl Davis | Theme from Pride & Prejudice
Tchaikovsky | Pieces from Swan Lake Ballet Suite
Elgar | Pomp & Circumstance March no. 4
