Compton Bay Fossil Walks
Various dates through the summer holidays. Join Wight Coast Fossils at Compton Bay and travel back in time 130 million years to the Cretaceous period as you discover the fossils of the Compton coast.
- Booking essential
On an hour long walk, your guide will use the fossils and clues in the rocks to build a picture of the dramatic changes the Island has undergone before finishing with the indisputable evidence that dinosaurs once roamed across the Island – the famous Hanover Point dinosaur footprints.
There's a chance to find your own piece of our prehistoric past too, from fossilised bone, teeth and wood.
Please note children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the tour.
