Heritage Open Days at Quebec House: The Tale of Laundry Basket Lucy

Known most often as the home of James Wolfe and Winston Churchill, everyday stories are just as powerful. Join us for this pop-up talk where we'll explore one of these which started with the discovery of a baby in a laundry basket.

In February 1851, a baby girl was discovered in a laundry basket in a London square. Hear from her great-granddaughter as she shares what happened next, Lucy's life in the care of the Foundling Hospital and beyond.

This talk is part of Quebec House's Heritage Open Days programme, 'Our Place, Your Past'.

The talk takes place upstairs in the Coach House. The main entrance to the property is along a gravel path. There is a flight of stairs up to the room where the talk will take place.
