"Cover to Cover": Christmas in the Mansion House
Escape the dark winter evenings and step into a world of twinkling lights and magical stories. Begin your visit along an illuminated path leading to the spectacular mansion, beautifully lit with festive lights. Step inside and soak up the magic of Christmases past, with cosy fireplaces, magnificent Christmas trees, and a warm, nostalgic atmosphere.
Each room of the mansion is transformed into a story from Scotney’s own book collection. Discover hand-crafted decorations, sparkling trees, and even festive scents inspired by beloved tales like A Christmas Carol, Peter Pan, Agatha Christie and Jane Austen.
Extend the magic...
After exploring the mansion, head back outside to toast marshmallows around the fire and enjoy seasonal treats in the tearoom. Don’t forget to visit the gift shop, filled with handpicked local treasures and unique National Trust gifts—perfect for finding something special for the whole family.
Open between 4pm and 7:30pm (last entry to the house at 7pm).
Important: To attend this event please book your parking in advance (booking opens 4 weeks in advance). Admission is to be paid on the night (free for NT members).
Please note this event is centred around the house and courtyard, it is not a full light trail. The garden is not open during this time and this is reflected in the admission price.
