This informal panel discussion will explore and celebrate the life and work of printmaker Gwyneth Alban Davis, and the post-war Avant Garde creative community of the Langdale Valley, which included artists Kurt Schwitters and Hilde Goldschmidt.
The expert panel will share their expertise and insights about the remarkable artists and thinkers living and working in the Langdale Valley during 1945-1950.
This free event will be held in Wordsworth’s iconic study overlooking the formal gardens and coincides with Allan Bank's current exhibitions: ‘Gwyneth Alban Davis: The Caravan Press’, ‘Women in Print’ and ‘Notes on Rest’, situated in the top floor galleries at Allan Bank.
Following the panel conversation, resident guest artist Karen Davies, exhibiting in Coleridge's Bedroom, will be giving a short artist talk about her work ‘Notes on Rest’.
