Himalayan Balsam Bash
Join us for a day in the woodlands helping us clear invasive Himalayan Balsam to help give our woodlands a better chance to thrive.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Work alongside our rangers to learn a bit more about woodland management in Great Wood and Ings. Non native Himalayan balsam spreads quickly, out competing our native flowers which are local eco-system depends on. Clearing them will help give the woodland understory a chance to come back.
The day will be spent working with National Trust staff and volunteers. After a short walk up the track behind Bowe Barn to the work site in Great Wood or Ings, we will be pulling up Himalayan Balsam by hand that is growing in the woodland.
People are welcome to participate for a couple of hours or stay for the full day.
