Discover the tales of Townend on our daily 45-minute guided tour at 3pm. Led by knowledgeable volunteers, this small-group tour offers a deeper exploration into the fascinating history of the people and objects connected to the home where one family – the Browne’s - lived for over 400 years and 12 generations. A compelling insight into an extraordinary farming family.
• Tuesday – General History
• Wednesday – General History plus a focus on the Library.
• Thursday – General History plus a focus on the 'Taste of Townend' historical food display.
Tickets go on sale two weeks in advance.
Free for members and standard admission price for non-members.

- Accessibility
Access to the cottage garden is via a steep slope and there are many small steps in the house, including a step at the entrance. Low light levels inside and uneven floor. Designated mobility car park spaces and drop-off point.

Please have your ticket ready to show our staff either on your phone or a printed copy. If you’re a member, you’ll also need to show your membership card. Please arrive 10 minutes before the booked time slot to allow the tour to start promptly. Sadly, if you're late, we won’t be able to guarantee you entry.
