Gunpowder, Tresham and plot | Exhibition

Remember, remember the fifth of November? But how about the part the Treshams played in the plot?

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Discover how fear and persecution sparked extreme acts and bitter conflict in the late 16th and early 17th centuries - culminating in one explosive, near-deadly plot.

Learn how religion was used to justify terrible deeds: executing “witches” simply for being different, imprisoning people for wanting to worship in their own way and driving 13 men towards 36 barrels of gunpowder and one plot to kill a king.
