Drop-in Fencing Workshops
This Summer, come along to one of our drop-in fencing workshops and get an introduction into the sport of historical fencing.

Take part in free historical fencing demonstrations with experienced fencer Marc Smith, a qualified instructor from the Liverpool Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA).
These 20-minute demonstrations are suitable for 5 – 13-year-olds and feature classic games like tag and capture the flag which focus on the core objectives of fencing.
Please note that the participation numbers are limited per workshop and the workshops operate on a first come first served basis.
In between workshops, visitors can handle historic pieces and learn more about the art and sport of 17th century fencing.
While you are on site, get involved in more of our Summer of Play activities, including sports day style games, giant lawn games and woodland activities.

Visit the Second-hand bookshop to pay for admission and our Welcome Team will direct you to the workshops.
- What to bring and wear
Dress appropriately for the weather. No PPE equipment will be needed for these sessions.
- Accessibility
