The Pest Station
This February half term, step behind the scenes and discover a fascinating part of our House Conservation team’s daily work at The Pest Station. This special display reveals the tiny critters that pose a big threat to our paintings and furniture.
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
The Pest Station will be located in the Long Gallery in the House. Visitors can explore a hands‑on display featuring real (but safely dead!) examples of the pests we find around the house, complete with magnifying glasses for a closer look. You’ll also discover a poster showcasing common pests found in historic houses, and take part in our ‘Guess the Pest’ game. Using photos of pests discovered at Osterley, visitors can test their knowledge by naming each one, then flip the card to see if they’re right. A fun and fascinating way to learn how we protect the house and its collection. General admission applies to enter House and Garden.
